Meet Our Team
Trei Hesse
Donald "Trei" Hesse III, owner and general contractor, has 25 years of experience in the building industry, with extensive experience in a variety of trades. He is a licensed general contractor in Aurora, Castle Rock, Castle Pines, Centennial, Parker, as well as, Arapahoe, Denver, and Douglas Counties.
Trei and his father owned a successful interior trim company working on high-end projects in the Mountain ski areas and he also worked with a variety of builders in the Denver Metro area, before founding DCH Construction.
Donald has supervised the construction of over 40 “flips” and over 500 basement finishes since DCH's inception. Trei works in the field and will meet with you on the initial consultation to measure and evaluate, and then once awarded, he supervises the progress of the sub-contractors from the start of the project, until our final walk-through.
Trei works with the inspectors from each building department and in conjunction with the office, works with the clients during the entire building process. Trei is involved in the overall operations of the company in the field. He has the knowledge and eye for detail that ensures the projects are built to your specifications and finished to code.

Susan Hesse
Susan A Hesse, owner and project manager, has 50 years of real estate expertise in Colorado, along with over 30 years of experience in the building industry as a construction manager.
In the 90s, Susan was awarded a government contract where she renovated over 1800 houses for the Department of Housing and Urban Development in Denver, and has worked as superintendent for several builders in the region.
Susan is responsible for the hiring of subcontractors, keeping the jobs on schedule, customer service, bid process, and daily company operations. She has an eye for detail and finishes, keeps the trades on task to get those basements finished in a timely fashion, and understands how valuable time is.

Donald was responsible for the design and building of many subdivisions in the Parker, Castle Rock, Aurora, and Denver areas. Don has also designed many of the beautiful homes in Cherry Hills, homes near the Country Club area off of Hampden and University, the Forum Building in Glendale and many other projects through-out his career. Don is responsible for designing the architectural drawings of all our projects and take-offs for materials.
Donald taught his son, Trei, everything he needs to know about carpentry and trim, and together, they owned a successful interior trim company working on high-end projects in the Mountain ski areas. He also worked with a variety of builders in the Denver Metro area, before founding DCH Construction, with his son and wife.
Don, our chief designer, has over 50 years of architectural and construction experience. He hand drafts plans using an "old-school" approach to best maximize space while adhering to building code, putting extensive thought into every detail of your custom design, to give you a design you will love!

Important Information:
- We are licensed in the municipality your home is located, as are our trades and we always pull a contractors permit, for your protection.
- We are insured with a Liability policy of $2 million, and our trades are all additionally insured, as well.
- We will provide an extensive reference list from homeowners, from actual projects we have completed.
- We are a Team Dave Logan Member, who fully vets all contractors with an extensive pre-screening process.
- We provide a written proposal with scope of work and architectural plans and signed contract, so you know what to expect throughout the process.
- Our bid lays out everything you'll need for a quality basement finish, including costs for labor and materials, and estimated cost for decorative purchases and permits.
- We will provide you with a list of the decorative items that are your responsibility for purchase. This puts you in the driver's seat and gives you the opportunity to budget your basement finish. Please be sure these items are on property and ready at start date.
